Lewis E. Biggs
Westernport, MD. --  Lewis Earl Biggs, 84, of 22509 Horserock Road, Westernport, passed away Saturday June 13, 2009 at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, WV.
 Born February 17, 1925 in Westernport, he was the son of the late Robert T. and Edna (Fazenbaker) Biggs.  Two sons, Rick and David Biggs also preceded him in death.
Mr. Biggs was a United States Army Veteran, having fought in the Battle of Saipan.  He retired from the First National Bank of Piedmont as Cashier and Executive Vice President.  He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Piedmont, WV, where he was a member of Hickerson's Men Bible Class and was a teacher for many years.  Mr. Biggs was a life member of Kelly Mansfield Post #52 American Legion, Piedmont and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.  His other memberships included the Hiram Lodge #103 AF & AM where he was Past Master and Secretary for over 30 years.  He also held various offices in the Grand Lodge of Maryland.  He was a member of the
Scottish Rite Bodies of Cumberland, a member and Past Patron of Martha Washington #10 Order of Eastern Star, and the Past Matrons and Past Patrons Association.
He leaves behind his wife, Doris Jane (Garvey) Biggs, a son, Jon Biggs and wife Kelly of Sykesville, a daughter, Nancy Flanagan and husband Doc of Carroll Valley, PA, a brother, Robert Biggs and wife Joy of Keyser, WV, two sisters, Wilda Fazenbaker and husband Richard of Piedmont, WV, and Dorothy
Barnard of Swanton.  He is also survived by seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Monday from 7 to 9 PM and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.  Martha Washington O.E.S. and Hiram Lodge will hold memorial services at the funeral home on Tuesday at 7:00 and 7:15 PM respectively.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Bart Thompson officiating.
Interment will be in Philos Cemetery, Westernport.
