Pamela Sarfino, age 81, of Poplar St., Westernport, MD, died at her residence on Saturday, August 23, 2008.
Born in Piedmont, WV on November 12, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Charles A. Johnson and Letitia V. (Knott) Johnson. She was the last of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by five sisters, Mary Taylor, Marguerite Leatherman, Olga Chilcote, Nell Toohey and Anna Kent Stafford.
Pamela was a 1944 graduate of Piedmont High School, worked for Dr. Paul Wilson in Piedmont and retired from Potomac Valley Hospital Records. She was an active member of the Piedmont Presbyterian Church where she worked with the youth group, taught Sunday School and served as an elder. She volunteered with the Tri-Towns Food Pantry and with the Mountain Top Crisis Pregnancy Center. She loved to work in her garden at home.
Surviving are her husband, Joseph Sarfino; one daughter Dottie Cosner and husband Forrest of Keyser, WV; three sons, Greg Sarfino and wife Joan of Bethesda, MD, Rick Sarfino and wife Carole Sue of Glen Arm, MD and Derek Sarfino and wife, Lori of Westernport, MD. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Pam Donlin, Tisha Coffin, Brian Sarfino, Derek Sarfino, Jeff Sarfino, Kate Stetler, Kori Sarfino and Anthony Sarfino and five Great-Grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Fredlock Funeral Home in Piedmont on Monday, August 25, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Harry Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in Philos Cemetery, Westernport, MD.
