Lily K. Smith, 83, of Keyser, WV, died Friday, August 22, 2008 at the Moran Manor Nursing Home, Westernport, MD.Born on November 5, 1924 at Keyser, WV, she was a daughter of the late Michael T. and Hazel K. (Ralston) Staggs. She also was preceded in death by her former husband, Franklin E. Smith; two brothers, Charles and James Spurling; a sister, Bessie Evans; a granddaughter, Melissa Fink and a great-granddaughter, Lauren Opal Fink.
Mrs. Smith was retired as a custodian at Potomac State College with over 20 years of service. She was a member of the Keyser Church of God and for many years, she, along with a group of other ladies, provided music and sang at many church functions and funerals in the community.
Surviving are two sons, Franklin T. Smith and wife Marty and Douglas K. Smith and wife Mary Lou, all of Keyser; two sisters, Dorothy Miller of Keyser and Mary Smith, a resident of Moran Manor Nursing Home; four grandchildren, Tammy Wotring and husband Jimmy, Johnathan Smith, Gregory Smith and Randy Smith and wife Elizabeth; eight great-grandchildren, Danielle Fink, Carissa Myers, Joshua, Sierra, Jacob, Tristan and Colin Smith and Dalen Judy and one great-great grandchild, Arielle Stickley.
Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Monday, August 25 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Tuesday, August 26 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Daniel Sears officiating.
Interment will be in the Cabin Run Cemetery, Keyser.
