Paul S. Bittinger
     WESTERNPORT, Md. - Paul Samuel Bittinger, 83, of 20209 Paulton Road, Westernport, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, March 7, 2010, at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland.
    Born Nov.13, 1926, in Gilmore, he was the son of the late Benjamin Harrison and Henrietta L. (Bowman) Bittinger.  His wife, Charolette (Jones) Bittinger, a son, Paul R. Bittinger, a stepfather, Tom Spiker, three grandchildren, Paul R. Bittinger JR, Erica Corrine Bittinger, and Japith Benjamin Bittinger, and his brothers and sisters, Carl Bittinger, Ruth Crites, Roy Bittinger, Ellsworth Bittinger, Harman Bittinger, Esther Hart, Edith Bittinger and two infant siblings, also preceded him in death.
    Mr. Bittinger was a retired coal miner.  He loved to fish and spend as much time with his family as he could.
   He leaves behind his children, Vernon Lee Bittinger of Cumberland, Joann O’Brien and husband David of Cumberland, Mary Ann Bobo and husband John of Keyser, W.Va., Timothy Allen Bittinger and wife Carol of Cumberland, and David Lee Bittinger and wife Sherry of Rawlings; one sister, Orpha Belford and husband Lyle of Paw Paw, W.Va.; and a daughter-in-law, Missy Bittinger-Stevens of Cresaptown.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, Stephanie Baker, John Bobo Jr. and wife Melissa, Angela Dixon and husband Paul, Brian Bobo and wife Tara, Tawanna Sisler and husband Vince, Jessica Riggs and husband Robert, Autumn Bittinger, Nicholas Bittinger, Chandra Andrews, Tasha McIntyre and husband Jason, Cara Bittinger, Autumn Nicol and Amber Nicol, and three special friends, Adeline, Caroline and Rosemary.
    The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. 
A funeral service will be conducted at Bonnieview Apostolic Church, Keyser, on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Donald Nelson, the Rev. Daniel Garlitz and the Rev. James Williamson officiating.
    Interment will be in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser, W.Va.
