Glenn E. Long
80,  of Keyser

Glenn Edward Long, 80, of Keyser, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 18, 2012, with his loving wife by his side.
Born March 11, 1931 in the village of Patterson Creek, he was the son of the late Howard Edward and Dorothy (Stine) Long.
He was also preceded in death by his two brothers, James Long and Edgell Long; one sister, Norma Knotts; and one grandson, Corey Broadwater.
Following graduation from Fort Ashby High School, Glenn served in the U.S. Navy.
For over 35 years, he served the community as a contractor in his business, Glenn E. Long Builder.
Mr. Long was a member of Berean Independent Baptist Church and the N.R.A.
Throughout his life he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming.  In addition, Glenn was interested in Civil War history and airplanes.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Beverley (Shirley) Long; four children, Glenda Broadwater, and husband Don, Keyser, Kenneth Long, and wife Stephanie, Chestertown, MD, Leslie Woolard, and husband Timothy, Keyser, and Wendi Browning, and husband Shane, Keyser; two sisters, Doris Long, Ridgeley, and Phyllis Norris, Waynesboro, PA; five grandchildren, Candi Long, Ashley Karge, Colby Long, Blake Browning, and Austin Browning; and one great-granddaughter, Breanna Karge.
Friends will  be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, Inc., Route 28, Fort Ashby, on Friday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.
The funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Saturday at noon, with Pastor Richard Riley, officiating.
Interment will be in Fort Ashby Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tim Woolard, Don Broadwater, Shane Browning, Rich Karge, Colby Long, Blake Browning, and Austin Browning.
Memorial contributions may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research 825 Hammonds Ferry Road, Suite H-J, Linthicum, MD  21090.
