Elizabeth C. Martin
KEYSER, W.Va. - Elizabeth C. Martin, 78, of the Cut-Off Road, Keyser, W.Va., died Saturday, March 13, 2010, at the Oakland Nursing and Rehab Center, Oakland, Md.
Born on May 6, 1931, at Keyser, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Elijah and Virginia (Blizzard) VanMeter.
She also was preceded in death by her constant companion, Lorenza H. "Lou" Ridings on April 12, 2000; a granddaughter, Crystal Martin; a son-in-law, Robert D. Snyder; three sisters, Ellen VanMeter, Ethel Rogers and Alice Fertig; and a brother, Oliver "Speed" VanMeter.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Martin was retired from the dietary department at Potomac Valley Hospital with over 20 years of service.
Surviving are her children, Shirley A. Snyder of Keyser, Juanita Newcomb and companion Eli Wotring of Fort Ashby, W.Va., Donald Martin and wife Karen and Robert Martin and wife Jan, all of Keyser; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, from 6-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Byron Mayberry officiating.
Interment will be in the Cabin Run Cemetery, Keyser.
