KEYSER — Robert Douglas Snyder, 66, of the Cut-Off Road, Keyser, W.Va., died Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at his residence.
Born on Feb. 17, 1944, at Keyser,  he was a son of David Edgell and Hazel Frances (Constable) Snyder of Keyser.
Mr. Snyder was formerly employed as a Keyser City policeman and retired as a foreman with the B & O Railroad. He was a 1962 graduate of Keyser High School and served in the WV Army National Guard from 1964-77.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his wife of 43 years, Shirley A. (Martin) Snyder; three children, Sandra Miller and husband James of Wardensville, W.Va., Deborah Lawless of San Diego, Calif., and Robert Snyder II of Wardensville; six grandchildren, Jim and Chris Miller, Hannah and Joshua Lawless and Sydney and Timothy Snyder; two brothers, Richard Snyder and wife Sue of Inwood, W.Va., and Carl Snyder and wife Donna of Keyser; an uncle and aunt he was very close to, Clarence and Ruth Constable of New Creek, W.Va.; his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Martin of Oakland, Md.;  and a close friend of the family, Jacquelyn Courtney of Antioch, W.Va.
Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Friday, March 12, 2010, from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday, March 13, 2010, one hour prior to the service.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Byron Mayberry officiating.
Interment will be in the Duling Cemetery, Keyser.
