CHARLESTON – The West Virginia Silver-Haired Legislature will convene on Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 1:30 p.m. at the Ramada Inn in South Charleston.
At that time, legislators will vote on position papers prepared by the four regional standing committees.
The membership will hear and review committee reports on the following issues: Incentives for small businesses; Drunk driver victim program; Improvement of educational qualifications for magistrates; Improved accessibility in older West Virginia parks and impoundments; Safe environment for nursing home and long-term care residents; Funding for public libraries; and- Renewal of existing driver's licenses in counties without a regional DMV office.
The session will conclude at the Capitol beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1, in the House Chamber.
The committees' final draft of the papers will be presented to the full membership of the Silver-Haired Legislature to be voted upon for presentation to the West Virginia State Legislature in the upcoming 2010 session.
