LUKE, Md. — NewPage Corporation announced Tuesday that Pat Moore has been promoted to the position of Luke mill manager at the company’s Luke, Md., operation.
Moore, who will assume his new position on Monday, Feb. 8, will replace Gary Curtis, who recently announced his retirement.
“Pat will be a great addition to the Luke mill, as he brings a wealth of papermaking and managing experience to the job, along with a uniquely energetic and straightforward approach,” said NewPage vice president of manufacturing operations Mark Lukacs.
“Pat’s skills, experience and leadership ability will be a great asset to the Luke team.”
A native of the Syracuse, N.Y., area, Moore graduated from the State University of New York with a degree in paper science and engineering in 1983. After graduation, he joined Consolidated Papers and worked in the Whiting and Biron mills
in Wisconsin in engineering and production roles. In 1999, Moore moved to the Duluth, Minn., mill as production manager and was promoted to mill manager in 2000.
Since 2007, Moore has been an employee of NewPage Corporation as a result of the company’s acquisition of the Stora Enso North America mills, which included the Duluth mill.
