CONWAY, S.C. - Sean Junkins, a Frankfort High School graduate who is current an HCS instructional technology coach at Conway Middle School, Conway, S.C., has been named to the Class of 2011 for the Apple Distinguished Educator Program.
As one educator among 76 chosen worldwide, he will join a select community of professionals who are passionately committed to improving teaching and learning through educational technology.
Junkins will attend the ADE Summer Institute in July where he will participate in an exciting week of expense-paid professional development, content creation and collaboration. The event will be held in Phoenix, Ariz., in partnership with Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
The Apple Distinguished Educator (ADE) Program began in 1994, when Apple recognized K-12 and higher education pioneers who are using a variety of Apple products to transform teaching and learning in powerful ways.
Today it has grown into a worldwide community of over 1,700 visionary educators and innovative leaders who are doing amazing things with technology in and out of the classroom.

Junkins, who graduated from FHS in 1999, is the son of John and Nancy Kady of Fort Ashby.
