KEYSER — Jacob Sullivan was recently appointed to the position of campus police officer at Potomac State College of West Virginia University.  
Sullivan, a graduate of the criminal justice program at Potomac State, earned his associate of applied science degree in criminal justice in May 2008.  
Prior to joining the University Police Department on the Potomac State campus, Sullivan worked as a security officer for the Western Maryland Health System in Cumberland, Md. Additionally, he served as a seasonal police officer at the Rehoboth Police Department in Rehoboth Beach, Del.  Sullivan provided a sense of security for residents and visitors of Rehoboth Beach, receiving commendation for seatbelt enforcement.
Sullivan is certified in CPR and Heartsaver AED, in PR-24 baton defense techniques and OC spray administration.  He has also received training in self-defense techniques.
Sullivan, a native of Cumberland, Md. and graduate of Fort Hill High School, currently resides in Keyser.  He is the son of Joseph and Denise Sullivan and will be attending the West Virginia Police Academy in early 2010.
