KEYSER — Keyser High School will have a very special guest participating in the coin toss Friday night at the Keyser-Berkeley Springs Homecoming game.
Gov. Joe Manchin is scheduled to arrive at Alumni Field at Tornado Alley at approximately 6:45 p.m. Friday, according to Superintendent of Schools Skip Hackworth.
“He will serve as honorary team captain and flip the coin,” Hackworth said, noting that the Governor had been interested in seeing the new athletic facility during his trip to Keyser.
Manchin is appearing at a dinner being hosted Friday evening by the Mineral County Democratic Executive committee in the fellowship hall of the Keyser Presbyterian Church.
Social hour begins at 6 p.m. and the dinner is at 7 p.m.
According to a member of the Executive Committee, he will leave the dinner briefly to participate in the coin toss. He will then return to the dinner to briefly speak to the attendees.
