KEYSER, W.Va. and CUMBERLAND, Md. -

July 13
ACCIDENT, Md. — At approximately 5:31 p.m., Tfc. A.S. Blocher of the McHenry Barrack stopped a 2003 Ford Escape on Rt. 219 near the Cove Overlook for speeding. Upon contacting the driver, Rikki Pelta, 21 of Owings Mills, Md., Tfc. Blocher detected the odor of burnt marijuana coming from within the vehicle. A probable cause search of the Ford SUV revealed suspected marijuana and paraphernalia on its occupants. Arrested were: Rikki Pelta (charged w/ possession of marijuana); Bryson Iacobini, 21, of Sparks Glencoe, Md. (charged w/ possession of marijuana); and Michael Pomerantz, 21, of Lutherville, Md. (charged with possession of marijuana and possession of CDS paraphernalia). All three individuals were transported to the McHenry Barrack and processed. All three are currently awaiting an appearance before a District Court Commissioner.

JULY 13
At 3:30 p.m., Cumberland Police Officers on Patrol stopped a vehicle along EB Interstate 68 for a speeding violation. A subsequent canine scan was done on the vehicle which revealed a positive alert for the presence of drugs. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a quantity of suspected methamphetamine, LSD, marijuana, hashish, ecstasy, as well as suspected drug paraphernalia. JULY 14
Cumberland Police Officers responded on several occasions to the area of Dilley Street for a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival at 12:04 a.m. officers observed a female being disorderly yelling from a porch of a residence. After investigation Jamie Lee Sturtz, age 32 of Cumberland, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace. Ms. Sturtz was taken before the District Court Commissioner and subsequently released on her own recognizance.

JULY 11
6:50 p.m. — Officers investigated a vehicle on Old Waxler Road. After investigation, officers issued citations to Thomas L. Paugh, 18 of Elk Garden and a juvenile for misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
10:15 p.m. — Officers were called to RG’s parking lot in reference to an altercation. Though no altercation was occurring when officers arrived, David E. Bauer, 44 of Keyser, Christopher J. Kesner, 34 of Keyser, and Charlotte A Carter, 36 of Keyser, were given citations for public intoxication. No injuries were reported.

JULY 12
3:51 a.m. — On routine patrol on North Davis/Armstrong Streets, officers issued a citation to  Timothy D. Clark, 25 of Barton, Md. for public intoxication. Officers arrested Jeremy A. Clark, 24 of Barton, Md. for public intoxication, obstructing an officer, and disorderly conduct.
2:49 p.m. — After a traffic stop in Blackberry Alley, officers issued a citation to Clint M. Brashear, Jr., 24 of Westernport, for open container, no proof of insurance, and expired/no MBI.
10:25 p.m. — Officers received prior information from the U.S. Marshals office seeking a yellow Cavalier. Officers located the car on Armstrong St. near North Main St. Suspect was not in the car, though information obtained at the traffic stop led to the arrest of Johnie C. Riggleman on  Front St. on a fugitive from justice warrant stemming from a federal probation violation.

JULY 13
12:28 a.m. — Officers received a complaint from an off duty officer on a possible intoxicated driver. A stop was made on South Water St. and Ronald W. Marshall, Jr., 34 of Keyser, was arrested for second offense DUI.
1:20 a.m. — Officers received a complaint on a male subject laying in a yard on Fort Avenue. Upon investigation, officers found Jason Wensell, 30 of Keyser, for public intoxication and obstructing an officer.
2:15 a.m. — Officers received a complaint of an altercation on Mozelle Street. Officers arrived, and though there was no altercation, they charged Michael B. Coffman, 28 of Oakland, Md. with public intoxication. Coffman and his father were taken to a relative’s residence in Keyser.
2:25 — Officers investigated a subject outside the Railsyde bar on Armstrong Street. They arrested Julie K. Gordon, 25 of Rawlings, Md. for public intoxication, obstructing an officer, and failure to give fingerprints.
3:42 a.m. — Officers received a call to the 200 block of North Main Street on destruction of property allegations. Upon arrival, officers arrested Richard Cramer, Jr., 21 of McCoole, Md. on charges of public intoxication, destruction of property, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
