KEYSER — A Keyser man who fled from police earlier this year by jumping off an apartment balcony, is in the Potomac Highlands Regional Jail following his arrest over the weekend on felony burglary and felony domestic-battery charges.
Brodie S. Hoover, 28, was arrested in connection with an incident that occurred Thursday afternoon when he allegedly broke into a residence on West Piedmont Street and stole a VCR. The domestic battery violation also occurred during the break-in, with both offenses constituting felonies.
Hoover was taken into custody Friday night just before 8 p.m. when officers from the Keyser City Police Department served an arrest warrant on him.
Hoover is well known to the Keyser Police.
On April 19 officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at an Armstrong Street apartment.
After observing evidence of an assault on the victim, officers attempted to take Hoover into custody. However, he ran
from the apartment to an outside balcony and jumped about 12 feet to a paved parking lot below, running barefoot from the scene.
Despite an hours-long search involving K-9 units, Hoover remained at large.
He turned himself in about two weeks later, when he was charged with domestic battery, obstructing an officer and fleeing on foot.
Following his arrest Friday, Hoover was incarcerated at Potomac Highlands Regional Jail on $1,300 bond.
