If BB&T is your bank and you have been in the lobby at the bank, the first person you will most likely meet is friendly receptionist Eddie Kight. However, after Aug. 31, a new face will be there to greet and direct customers.
After 41 years of banking experience, Kight is retiring.
“I have always liked waiting on people and I have always felt my clients can depend on me as I have tried to help them with their needs. I feel that I have used my banking skills and knowledge to help as quickly as possible— I care about my clients. In most cases I have tried to be sensitive when they have had problems” said Kight “I am glad that I got to serve my clients for 41 years and I’m looking forward to the special time-in-life after banking.”
Kight has been a receptionist at the bank for three years. As receptionist his duties are greeting customers and directing them to the appropriate location, manning the switchboard, and attending the safety deposit box. Kight has worked in many facets at the bank before landing at the front desk. He worked in the loan department as a loan officer and was selected as collection manager for the loan department at that time for all four branches of BB&T in Mineral County.
Kight noted that working as a collections manager was his favorite position at the bank.
“Through this position I was able to serve and help the customers that have the most critical needs,” said Kight.
