KEYSER, W.Va. -

Mineral and Allegany County Girl Scouts participated in a Potomac River cleanup. The Potomac Conservatory has given a D+ rating for the waters that flow from the Potomac River. Because of this, the Girl Scouts felt that making an effort to clean up here could help make a difference down river. Eleven girls divided into two groups to work along the Potomac and New Creek from the railroad trestle to the Potomac. Special thanks to Southern States and East Pointe Ballet for restroom facilities, Kight Sanitation for trash pick up, McDonalds for orange drink, Wal-Mart for gloves, and to the community members who helped with the cleanup.
