DUI checkpoint set

KEYSER – The Mineral County Sheriff's Department will be conducting a DUI checkpoint beginning on Friday, July 3, at 8 p.m. and continuing until Saturday, July 4, at 2 a.m., on state Route 28 in the Fort Ashby area.
The alternate route will be county Routes 15/00 and 28/02.
This checkpoint is being done in conjunction with the Governor's Highway Safety Program and the Eastern Panhandle Community Traffic Safety Program.
Sheriff's deputies will be stopping vehicles coming through the checkpoint in an effort to check for expired driver's license, motor vehicle inspections, and registrations, along with checking drivers for impairment.
