Local KHS students Nikki Cannon and Megan Hott along with KHS teacher Angel Cannon traveled the five hour trip to Charleston to attend the rally for presidential candidate Hillary Clinton at the capital building.
The three young women waited over six hours in line to see the former first lady make one of many speeches that she has recently made in West Virginia.
Clinton spoke of her plans for a gas holiday this summer and many of her goals that she hopes to achieve as the next president, such as lowering the interest rates on student loans and her plans to resolve the issues in Iraq.
Clinton also noted her strengths in this election.
She made reference to her strong lead among Catholics, Hispanics, blue-collar workers, and senior citizens.
“Now some call you swing voters, I call you Americans,” Clinton said. “I call you hard working West Virginians who are trying to figure out what is best for you and your families.”
