KEYSER – Supporters of the Keyser High School Golden Tornado and Frankfort Falcons are being invited to come together and show their school spirit for the first Mineral Bowl Parade scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 28, in Keyser.
Keyser and Frankfort will clash Friday night on the turf at Alumni Stadium at Tornado Alley in the 2009 version of the classic rivalry for the coveted Mineral Bowl.
Georgie Biser, parent coordinator for Keyser High School, said entries are now being sought for the parade, and floats, marching units, autos and others are invited to participate.
It is hoped that both the Golden Tornado Marching Band and the Falcon Marching Band will participate.
Line-up for the parade will begin at 6:45 p.m. in South Keyser and the lineup positions will be posted in the News Tribune Wednesday morning.
The parade units will begin to move out at 7:30 p.m. and will proceed north on Main Street and make a left onto Armstrong Street; disbanding at Keyser Square.
Units are being asked to not throw candy or other items to the crowd for safety purposes.
Those wishing to sign up to participate may mail the name of the organization, the type of entry, contact person and phone number to: Georgie Biser, Keyser High School, 1 Tornado Way, Keyser WV 26726.
For more information, call Biser at the high school at 304-788-4230.
