KEYSER – The Mineral County Technical Center recognized its outstanding students, and presented a number of awards, during the 2011 commencement exercises held Friday, May 20, at the Church-McKee Arts Center.
The following students were named as outstanding in their respective subject areas:
Agricultural mechanics: Sarah Dawn Miller and Lukas Wayne Rexrode.
Animal science: Ryan Patrick Turner.
Forestry: Robert Cameron Ellifritz Jr.
Horticulture: Laura Paige Freeman.
Natural resources: Caleb Stephen Staggs.
Accounting and finance: Michelle Kathryn Pyles.
Marketing management: Michelle Kathryn Pyles.
Health occupations science: Olivia Danielle Blankenship, Katie Sueellen Ratliff, Brooke Marie Mangold, and Nikki Elizabeth Rowe.
ProStart I & II: Tiffany Marie Bing and Gary Francis Bradley.
Automotive technology: Michael Stephen Bane and James Richard Kirk.
Collision repair and refinishing: William Edward Clark Jr.
Project Lead the Way: Ryan Eli Clark and Brian Thomas Logsdon.
General building construction: Brady Aaron Hite and Dylan Andrew Twigg.
Welding: Keith Patrick Durr.
Other awards announced during the evening included:
Agriculture: $100 scholarships were presented to Jesse Bane (ag mechanics), Ryan Turner (animal science) and Laura Freeman (natural resources).
Randy Biser Scholarship for ag mechanics: Lukas Rexrode.
AirGas Mid-America/Cumberland Welding Branch gift certificate: Robert Dyche.
Albert Yanni Scholarships: Michelle Pyles and Brian Logsdon.
Harry C. Alt Memorial Scholarships:  Sarah Bryan and Renae Spiker.
Ace Hardware Outstanding Skills Student award: Joshua Everett.
Allegany College of Maryland Scholarship:  Rebekah Yarbrough.
