KEYSER – Wet weather forced the cancellation of last night’s Friday Nite Live concert in downtown Keyser, effectively ending the month-long concert series for this year.
Keyser Councilman Dave Sowers, one of the main forces behind the August concert series, said that with wet weather forecast today, and with the original bands unavailable to reschedule, the show was canceled altogether.
Last week’s Friday night event was also canceled due to weather, but was re-scheduled for the next night.
Sowers has indicated that next year’s downtown August concerts may be shifted to Saturday nights.
Sowers, who works to mount downtown celebrations throughout the year, said the next big event for Keyser will be an Octoberfest featuring ethnic dishes and other attractions. More information will be provided in the near future.
