WESTERNPORT – On Sunday, Sept. 27 the Tri-Towns CROP Walk will be held at the Creekside Park in Westernport. Registration begins at 1 p.m. Churches from Piedmont, Luke, Westernport, Bloomington, McCoole and Backbone Mountain will be recruiting members to walk, and others to pledge support for the walkers.
The proceeds from the event go to Church World Service for use at home and abroad, where it is most needed. Twenty-five percent of the amount collected will be returned to the Tri-Towns for use by the local food pantry.
People who cannot or choose not to walk are invited to come for the entertainment, and make use of the swings and rockers. Parents are encouraged to bring little ones in strollers and wagons to let them roll along during the event. The park is also wheelchair friendly.
