Keyser, W.Va. -

Deputy FC. Robbie Smith and K9-Kira (pictured) search a tractor-trailer on Rt. 46 as part of a drug raid executed early Thursday morning in Mineral County.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation, West Virginia State Police, Keyser City Police Department, and the Mineral County Sheriff’s Department were on hand to raid a business located in the Keyser Industrial Park on Waxler Road, as well as more than one residence in an undisclosed location.

The raid began at 5 a.m. and ended around 2 p.m.

“Several search warrants were issued in the Keyser area,” said Chief Deputy Paul Sabin of the Mineral County Sheriff’s Department.

Sabin declined to comment further due to the fact that the investigation is ongoing.

Sergeant Droppleman of the Keyser Detachment of the West Virginia State Police, Sheriff Gary White, and Tom Mucklow of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Martinsburg all declined to comment.

Calls to the Potomac Highlands Drug and Violent Crime Task Force were unanswered.

More information will be provided as it is made available.
