Keyser City Police

July 22
1:18 a.m. -- Officers were called to the 300 block of West Piedmont Street in response to a report of someone trying to break into a house. Charged with public intoxication was Travis L. Wilcox, 26, of Keyser. Police said he knew a resident of the house.
On Tuesday police served an arrest warrant on Wendell A. Morgan, 18, of Keyser, for destruction of property and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, related to an incident that occurred July 8 in the 90 block of D Street.

Cumberland City Police

July 21
 At 9:36 AM, the Cumberland Police Department responded to the area of Martins Market for a report of a theft.  The caller also advised police that witnesses were chasing the suspect towards Union St.  Once officers were on the scene they were advised by a female employee that a male subject stole ice cream from the market.  When the employee confronted the suspect she was shoved to the ground and th male suspect ran away towards Park St.  Police spoke with witnesses who observed the suspect run into a house on Union St.  Officers were able to make contact with a male subject inside the house and he was identified as the subject that had stolen items from Martins Market and assaulted the employee.  At this time the suspect was identified as Harold M Nicol, age 24 and was placed under arrest. He was charged with  2nd Assault and Theft, $500. He was held on $1500.00 Bond.    Nicol was  transported to Police Headquarters.
