June 13, 2008

• Chief Deputy Sabin and DFC Smith responded to a reported Domestic situation in the Headsville area.  No arrests were made.
• Chief Deputy Sabin served a civil summons at the Mineral County Courthouse.
• DFC Reall served a civil summons at Quality Supplier.
• DFC Reall served a civil summons at the West Virginia State Police Office.
• Deputy Kerling served as bailiff in Circuit Court from 0900 until 1200 hours.
• Deputy Weakley served a civil summon at the 1st United Bank in Hunt Club Plaza.
• Deputy Weakley served a civil summons pertaining to a Wrongful Occupation hearing.
• Deputy Weakley received a harassment complaint. Investigation is continuing.
• Deputy Weakley responded to the Knobley Farms Market regarding a complaint on a subject  who purchased gasoline and drove off without paying.  
• Deputy Weakley responded to a 911 hang-up call.  Upon arrival it was discovered that the  residence having phone problems.
• DFC Chris Leatherman served a Domestic Violence Protective Order on Mark Cook in Antioch.

June 14, 2008

• Deputy Marc Leatherman appeared in Magistrate Court for a scheduled hearing on Wilda Kesner.
• Deputy Weakley served a civil summons in Ridgeley.
• Deputy Marc Leatherman responded to a residence in New Creek regarding a depressed  subject.  EMS was contacted and no further action was required.
• Deputy Marc Leatherman assisted PD Keyser at Martin’s Parking lot with a drunk driver. Janson  Wensell was transported to PD Keyser for processing.  Incident is being handled by PD Keyser.

June 15, 2008

• DFC Chris Leatherman cited Brandon Robert Hamilton, age 28 of Ridgeley for Public Intoxication  at 0010 hours after he was observed walking along Route 28 in Short Gap. Hamilton was  transported to his residence.
• DFC Chris Leatherman responded to 9 Childs Avenue in Piedmont for a Destruction of Property  complaint at 0110 hours.  Sandra Durst reported that the back window on her 1990 Cadillac had  been busted.  Piedmont PD was not available for the call.  Investigation is continuing.
• CPL. Wingler responded to a complaint of a loud party on Hartmansville Road near Elk Garden.  
Subject were advised to lower the volume of their music.
• CPL. Wingler and DFC Chris Leatherman responded to assist West Virginia State Police on  Maple Avenue in searching a residence.  Incident being handled by West Virginia State Police.
• Deputy Marc Leatherman transported inmates Chad Hetrick and Ronald Gene Wallace from the Mineral County Detention Center to the Regional Jail in Augusta.
• DFC Smith responded to assist West Virginia State Police with an unruly subject at the REM Home on Rockland Farm Road.  No arrests were made.

June 16, 2008

• DFC Chris Leatherman and DFC Smith appeared in Circuit Court for a scheduled hearing on  Chad Robinette, Jason Seib and James Nelson Jr.
• Chief Deputy Sabin received a complaint on Dan’s Run Road at the Flanagan residence pertaining to a Domestic situation. Complaint was advised to obtain a Domestic Violence Protective Order, no arrests were made.
• DFC Reall received a complaint from Robert Walker on Push Root Road.  Walker advised that a trailer had been broken into and property stolen.  According to Walker, a .22 rifle, ammo, air conditioners, TV and DVD player were stolen. Investigation is continuing.
• Deputy Marc Leatherman responded to Wiley Ford for a well being check on a subject who had  not been seen for several days.  After responding it was discovered that the subject was in the hospital.

June 16, 2008
• At 6:00 p.m., the Cumberland Police Department responded to the area of the Rt. 220 near the Park and Ride for a report of a motor vehicle crash.  Once on the scene officers found that three vehicles had been involved in the accident. It was found that the driver of a 1997 Subaru had lost control of her vehicle while traveling south bound on Rt. 220 and crossed the center line striking the side of the mountain. The vehicle then backed across Rt. 220 back into the south bound lane and came to rest on a curb. Two vehicles that were traveling behind the Subaru attempted to stop to avoid the accident and collided. The driver of the Subaru was identified as, Dana Thowe. Thowe was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was found to be at fault for the accident.  Thowe was charged with DWI and later released.

• At 8:42 p.m., the Cumberland Police Department responded to Sheetz on Virginia Ave. for a report of a hit and run and a theft of gasoline. Investigation revealed that a tan SUV had pumped gasoline and then attempted to drive away without paying and struck a retaining wall in the 400 blk of Virginia Ave. The vehicle was located on Race St. and several subjects were identified.  One of the subjects was identified as Robert Washington.  Washington was also identified as the subject that had pumped the gasoline. While speaking with Washington he became very belligerent and started yelling at officers.  After being told numerous times to calm down Washington was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters and charged.

Held on $2,500 bond.

• At 11:23 p.m., the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 400 Blk of Baltimore Ave. for a report of a female yelling for help. Once on the scene officers made contact with a female and male subject. The female had visible injuries and advised officers that the male subject who was identified as Charles Bauman 2nd had assaulted her. Officers were able to confirm this with an witness and placed Bauman under arrest. Bauman was transported to Police Headquarters and charged.
Charges: 2nd Degree Assault, False Imprisonment.
Held on $3,000 bond.
