Tuesday, Feb. 9
The Allegany County Bureau of Police were dispatched to Philos Avenue and Lincoln Drive in Westernport  for a motor vehicle crash at 4:20 p.m. The first vehicle was driven by Nancy Lee Sawyers, 47, of Stoney Run Road, Westernport. The second vehicle was driven by Benjamin John Preston,  20, of Laurel Run road, Barton. Sawyers failed to yield right of way and pulled her vehicle into the path of Preston's vehicle. Sawyers was transported to Potomac Valley Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. Charges are pending.
On the same shift, Allegany County Police officers responded to Rt. 220 in McCoole and Bel Air for two separate incidents of tractor trailers stuck or jacknifed in the roadway, blocking lanes. Both were towed out of the way to open the roadway.
