June 18-19, 2008
INCIDENT: Malicious  Destruction of Property
LOCATION: WISP Resort Marsh Hill Road McHenry MD

6-18-08 at 1700 and 6-19-08 at 0900
INVESTIGATING OFFICER: Tfc. HUBER
VICTIM INFORMATION: WISP Resort
NARRATIVE:
One the aforementioned date and times, unknown suspect(s) painted several buildings and other items belonging to the WISP Resort, with black and red spray paint. Most of the symbols painted were unreadable, but one was the symbol H2O in large red letters. Anyone with information is asked to contact Tfc. Huber at the McHenry State Police Barrack, (301) 387-1101.

June 22, 2008
INCIDENT: Possession of Marijuana and Paraphernalia
LOCATION: E/B MD 135, W/O Swanton Rd, Swanton, Garrett County, Maryland
TIME: 6:25 p.m.
INVESTIGATING OFFICER: Tfc. Upole
VICTIM INFORMATION: State of Maryland
NARRATIVE: One the above date/time Tfc. Upole stopped a vehicle for speeding.  The driver, William Gary Riggleman, W/M, 37 years old, of Long Beach, MS, was arrested for two active arrest warrants.  A search incident to arrest revealed items of Marijuana and Paraphernalia located inside the vehicle.  The passenger, Tammy Lee Ward, W/F, 42 years old, Panama City, Fla., claimed possession of the items.  Ward was charged with possession of CDS – Marijuana and possession of CDS Paraphernalia.  Both were transported to the Garrett County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.

NARRATIVE:  On 6-22-08 a 2 vehicle collision occurred on Rt. 219 in front of Grantsville Plaza.  Vehicle # 1, operated by Brenda Wilburn, was attempting to make a left turn into Grantsville Plaza from N/B Rt. 219.  Vehicle #2, operated by Beverly Faner, was traveling S/B on Rt. 219.  Vehicle #1 turned into the path of vehicle #2.  Vehicle # 2 then struck vehicle #1 in the right front side.  All persons were transported to Cumberland Memorial Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.  Brenda Wilburn was charged with failing to yield to oncoming traffic while making a left turn.  The investigation was conducted by Cpl. J.R. Pritts
Additional Passengers in vehicle #2:  Deborah Faner, 24 years of age, Meyersdale Pa., James Faner, 22 Years of age, Meyersdale, Pa.

INCIDENT: Malicious Destruction of Property
LOCATION: WISP Resort, Deep Creek Marina, Burger King/BP, McHenry MD 21541
INVESTIGATING OFFICER: Tfc. Huber/Tfc. Arnold
VICTIM INFORMATION: WISP Resort, Deep Creek Marina, Burger King/BP
NARRATIVE: The Maryland State police are investigating a string of vandalisms in the McHenry area along Marsh Hill Rd. and Deep Creek Dr.  Sometime between the above listed dates unknown suspect(s) spray painted graffiti on several buildings and street signs along Deep Creek Dr and Marsh Hill Rd.  Unknown suspect(s) entered the main lodge of the WISP Resort sometime between 10:00 PM on 6/22/2008 and 6:00 AM on 6/23/2008 and spray painted graffiti in a stairwell.  This is the second vandalism with graffiti that occurred at the WISP.  The Garrett County Crime Solvers are offering at least $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect(s).  Crime Solvers may be reached at 301-334-1975.  Anyone who may have information or can provide any further details is asked to call TFC Huber or TFC Arnold at 301-387-1101.  Callers may remain anonymous.

June 20, 2008
• Deputy Kerling transported inmate Charles N. Spencer Jr. from the Bedford County Detention Center to the Mineral County Detention Center.  Spencer was picked up on warrants for Felony Failure to Pay Child Support.
• Deputy Kerling received a complaint from Crystal Taylor pertaining to the theft of two four wheelers on Push Root Road.  The four wheelers were Honda 4Trax 125 and 4Trax 300.  Incident remains under investigation.
• Deputy Kerling responded to a Breaking and Entering at the South End Park Concessession stand across from McDonalds on US Route 220 at 1600 hours.  A witness observed 3 black males and 2 white in their teens entering the structure.  The group was last seen walking north in the parking lot of the Keyser pool.  Items of Gatorade may have been taken from the building. Incident remains under investigation.
• Deputy Weakley responded to US Route 220 (Cut-Off Road) near Sislers Lumber for a disabled vehicle.
• Deputy Weakley received a complaint pertaining to a truck pulling a trailer loaded with hay bails losing it cargo near the intersection of Route 50 & State Route 93.  Vehicle was located and hay bails were secured.
• Deputy Weakley assisted a driver who had struck a parked vehicle in the parking lot at Magistrate Court.  The information on  owner of the unoccupied vehicle was obtained.
• Cpl. Wingler and DFC Chris Leatherman responded to Rockland Farm Road for a report of a suspicious vehicle.  The vehicle in question was stopped on US Route 220 at 0245 hours.  The driver, Keith Edward Suter was arrested after it was determined that he was wanted in Alleghany County, MD for Failure to Appear.  Suter was transported to the Mineral County Detention Center.
• DFC Chris Leatherman transported inmate Lucien George Paxton from the Mineral County Detention Center to the Regional Jail in Augusta.  
• DFC Chris Leatherman arrested Brad M. Taylor, age 56, 1075 Florida Ave, Keyser on an outstanding warrant for Failure to Appear.  Taylor was transported to the Mineral County Detention Center.
• DFC Chris Leatherman responded to the Burlington area regarding reports of a subject in the area attempting  to sell a cleaning solution. Subject was operating a grayish blue Toyota 4 Runner. Subject was not located.
• DFC Chris Leatherman received a complaint pertaining to dirt biikes and four wheelers operating in a reckless manner on Patterson Creek Road in Burlington.  Subjects were not located.
• DFC Chris Leatherman respopnded to Detrick Road near Wiley Ford at 2230 hours for a hit and run accident.  Jonathan Messenger was traveling on Detrick Road when an oncoming vehicle struck the drivers side of his vehicle.  Upon impact, Messengers vehicle went into a ditch striking a post.  The other vehicle failed to stop and fled the scene. White paint was found on the Messenger vehicle.  Investigation is continuing.

June 21, 2008
• Deputy Weakley received a complaint of an intoxicated subject walking on State Route 28 at 0125 hours.  The subject was given transportation.
• Cpl. Wingler and K-9 Dutch were requested by West  Virginia State Police to respond to the Wiley  Ford area for a 9 year old who had ran away from parents.  Prior to arrival, subject had been located.
• DFC Chris Leatherman responded at 0315 hours to Tractor Supply for an alarm that had been activiated.  Management responded and the building was checked and everything was secure.
• Deputy Kerling responded to a complaint of a subject who had a self inflicted knife wound.  Upon arrival the weapon was secured.  Subject was transported to Scared Heart Hospital.
• Cpl. Wingler, DFC Chris Leatherman and Deputy Reall responded to a Domestic Situation at Mill Meadow Trailer Park at 1845 hours.  Walfred Zuniga, age 24 of Mill Meadow Trailer Park was arrested for Domestic Battery and transported to the Mineral County Detention Center. Zuniga later appeared before Magistrate David Harman and was released after posting a $800.00 bond.
• Deputy Kerling and Deputy Marc Leatherman responded to Optima Gas station near Wal-Mart  at the request of EMS from Co 38 pertaining to a patient with seizures who was combative.  Patient was restrained and Deputy Kerling accompained the patient in the ambulance to Potomace Valley Hospital.  Investigation is contuining into the manner after CDS was discovered on the patient.
• DFC Chris Leatherman responded to PD Keyser at 2145 hours for a Domestic situation. Christopher Eugene Burgess, age 28, 404 Ward Avenue, Keyser was arrested for Domestic Battery and Providing Alcohol to a Minor.   Samantha Jo Guinn, age 20, Rt 4, Keyser was arrested for Domestic Battery and Underage Possession of Alcohol. The incident occurred as Burgess was transporting Guinn from Piedmont to Keyser.  Both subjects were transported to Potomac Valley Hospital for treatment of minor injuries and when both were released they were transported to the Mineral County Detention Center. Both subjects later appeared before County  Magistrate David Harman and were released after posting a $1,000 bond.
• Cpl. Wingler responded to a two vehicle accident on St. Cloud Street and E Street.  Shawna Eichelberger failed to stop at a stop sign on E Street and collided with a vehicle being operated by Karen Shoemaker. Both drivers were transported to Potomac Valley Hospital where they  were treated for minor injuries and released.  Eichelberger was cited for Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Device and Failure to Maintain Control.

June 22, 2008
• Deputy Kerling responded to 1032 Trenum Drive for a Domestic situation at 0845 hours.  Chuck Mosher, age 33, Lower Georges Creek Road, Lonaconing, MD was arrested for Domestic Assault, Domestic Battery and Destruction of Property.  During the investigation is was discovered that Mosher has outanding warrants in Alleghany County, MD for Failure to Appear.  Mosher was arrested as a Fugitive from Justice.  Mosher was transported to the Mineral County Detention  Center.
• Deputy Kerling responded to assist PD Keyser on a traffic stop on US Route 220 where the operator had outstanding felony warrants on file. Incident handled by PD Keyser.
• Deputy Marc Leatherman received a complaint pertaining to a child custody issue.  The matter was civil in nature.
• Deputy Marc Leatherman responded to the Keyser Primary Middle School for an alarm that had been activated. Alarm was not properly reset as employees were exiting the building.
• Deputy Marc Leatherman responded to assist PD Keyser with several intoxicated subjects at E Street and West Piedmont Street.  Incident was handled by PD Keyser.
• Deputy Marc Leatherman transported inmates Chuck Mosher and Chris Burgess from the Mineral County Detention Center to the Regional Jail in Auguata.
• Deputy Weakley responded to Mill Meadow Trailer Park for a Domestic situation at 2200 hours. Michael Herman Casto, age 45, Mill Meadow Trailer Park was arrested for Domestic Battery. Casto was transported to the Mineral County Detention Center. Two juveniles who were involved in this incident will have juvenile petitions issued in Circuit Court for Domestic Battery charges also.
