Monday, March 8

2:16 p.m. — Keyser City Police were called to the Family Dollar in the Keyser Square Mall for a report of a shoplifting incident. Charged with shoplifting $25 worth of items was Holly A. Maxwell, 24, of Keyser.

4:35 p.m. — Police were called to the 80 block of Maryland Street for a vehicle-break-in that resulted in the theft of electronic equipment valued at $200. Police said the vehicle's doors were locked, but had been pried open. The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Keyser City Police at 304-788-1311.

8:46 p.m. — Police officers served an arrest warrant on Brent L. Redman, 25, of Keyser, charging him with battery in connection with an incident that occurred March 2.

LONACONING — Investigators with the Allegany County Combined Criminal Investigation Unit (C3I) arrested a 41 year old Lonaconing male Monday, March 8, after a warrant charging him with second degree sex offense, third degree sex offense, second degree child abuse and sexual abuse of a minor had been issued.
The arrest is the result of an investigation initiated by the C3I Criminal Investigation Unit after the victim initially filed a complaint with the District Court of Allegany County.  The victim reported that possible sexual and child abuse occurred to them on numerous occasions when the victim was a child, perpetrated by a relative. The incidents were reported to occur at several locations in the Allegany County area.    
An investigation that included interviews of the victim, witnesses, and evidence to support the allegations led to investigators obtaining an arrest warrant for the suspect.
The suspect was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an initial appearance, and is currently being held at the Allegany County Detention Center on $50,000 bond pending their next court appearance.
The name of the alleged perpetrator is being withheld to help protect the identity of the victim.
