Friday, Jan. 8
9 p.m. — Keyser City Police received a call from the Allegany County, Md. Sheriff’s Department asking officers to serve a protective order on a Keyser man. Upon researching the man’s name in a national crime database, police discovered he was wanted in Maryland as a fugitive from justice for violation of a pre-existing protective order. Arrested and held pending extradition to Maryland was Michael I. Beeman, 39, of Keyser.
11:51 p.m. — A Keyser man turned himself in at the Keyser City Police Department on a battery warrant in connection with a Dec. 16 altercation with his brother. Charged was Douglas R. Fazenbaker Sr., 48.
Sunday, Jan. 10
8:28 p.m. — Officers received a complaint about a theft from a residence in the 500 block of West Piedmont Street resulting in the loss of items valued at $250. Police have a suspect in the case and an arrest is expected.
Monday, Jan. 11
11:34 a.m. — Earl Cleveland Jr., 21, of Keyser, turned himself into police on a failure-to-appear warrant.
2:05 p.m. — The CVS Pharmacy contacted police to alert them to a person trying to pass an altered prescription. Workers at the pharmacy became suspicious when the script appeared to have been tampered with, and contacted the doctor’s office, which confirmed it had been altered. When the suspect returned to pick up the prescription, the pharmacy contacted police, who arrested a 16-year-old girl from McCoole. She was released to her mother, with charges referred to juvenile authorities.
