KEYSER - Discussion from a previous Mineral County Development Authority meeting concerning payroll was part of the conversation at the recent meeting of the agency.
Richard Lechliter, county commissioner, had information for the authority members in October for the ending of the payroll function being under the direction of the county and be directed to become part of the duties for the development authority when it comes to payroll for Kevin Clark, executive director.
Due to the absence of Lechliter from the Tuesday meeting, no update in this business item was known, however, Buck Eagle, president of the development authority, said, “We are in the dark about this.”
He added, “We don’t know of their objection,” while Terry Liller, Keyser’s representative on the authority, said, “There is miscommunication somewhere.”
A suggestion was given for board members to have a meeting in the future with the county commission to gain information on this subject.
