KEYSER  - Aryonna Martin is a little girl with a big crown, and the only thing bigger than her crown is her heart.
Martin, who holds the title of Little Miss United States, is the Junior Ambassador of Comfort Cases.
A Comfort Case is a small duffle bag or backpack with the purpose of providing comfort for kids as they enter the foster care system. Their case provides them with the essentials for the first few days in a new place, as well as comfort items to help ease the scary transition.
Comfort Cases is based out of Rockville, Maryland. They deliver bags to kids in need throughout the United States, including West Virginia.
The long-time practice of foster kids carrying the few belongings they have from one place to another in trash bags did not sit well with Aryonna. So she decided she was going to change that and became a Junior Ambassador for  Comfort Cases.
It has become something that Aryonna is passionate about.
Now Aryonna is working to get Comfort Cases delivered to the kids in Mineral County, and she needs everyone’s help. She will be at Keyser’s Fall Festival Saturday, Oct. 13, with some of her friends, and they will be collecting donations for the Comfort Cases.
Co-hosting the event is Mrs. Glamour North America Stacey Miller, and some other guests coming out to help them include Keyser Highs School Homecoming Queen Hannah Decker, Ms Battle of Hope and Ms Allegany County United States Shanna King, Mineral County Fair Queen Autumn Cornachia, Tiny Miss Battle of Hope Adlee Riden, Miss West Virginia Kindergarten Jenna Weese, USA National Miss 2019 West Virginia South Branch Preteen Makenah Shriver, who is also the preteen Treasure Mountain Festival, Miss Battle of Hope Lacey Hoopengarner, Miss Glamour International First Runner Up Mariah Sarver, Baby Apple Dumpling Mila Foltz, Ms Bridge Day Holly Redman, Miss Teen Battle of Hope Ashley Mayhew, and Preteen WV United States Grace Mallow.
According to Fall Festival coordinator Kelly Metcalf, title holders are continuing to call in, wanting to be involved with the event.
Aryonna believes that every child deserves to feel like they matter. Her goal, along with the National Organization Comfort Cases, is to have the usage of trash bags banned in the foster care system. She feels with everyone working together, it can be accomplished.
Items that can be donated for the Comfort Cases are backpacks and small duffle bags, large 32.5 duffle bags, blankets, pajamas sizes newborn to 3xl, stuffed animals, books that are new or like new, coloring books, crayons, journals, pens and pencils, toothbrushes, tooth paste, travel size toiletries: shampoo, conditioner, lotion, deodorants, soap, body wash, baby items such as baby blankets, baby bibs, and wash cloths, and baby travel sized toiletries, baby shampoo, baby lotion, baby body wash, baby powder, diaper ointment, and wipes.
