WESTERNPORT - A Westernport man was arrested early Sunday morning after he allegedly kicked a door in and entered a residence on Vine Street in Westernport.

WESTERNPORT - A Westernport man was arrested early Sunday morning after he allegedly kicked a door in and entered a residence on Vine Street in Westernport.
According to the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to Vine Street at approximately 5 a.m. Sunday after receiving a report of a breaking and entering in progress.
The complainant advised 911 that a subject had kicked in a door to his residence and entered, prior to being chased out by the homeowner.
When deputies arrived in the area, the caller was following the male on foot and was able to identity and provide the location of the suspect.
The suspect was identified as Joshua Scott Lee, 28, of Westernport.
Pursuant to the investigation it was discovered that Lee had forcibly entered  the residence without permission and damaged the property while doing so. After leaving the residence, he was observed by the complainant near several other residences in the area. Deputies located additional damage to residences on Walnut Street consistent with a breaking and entering attempt.
Lee was arrested and charged with two counts each of first degree burglary and malicious destruction of property.
Lee was released on his own recognizance after an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner.
