LaVALE - A Burlington man was arrested on a fugitive warrant Sunday after being stopped for a taillight violation in LaVale.

LaVALE - A Burlington man was arrested on a fugitive warrant Sunday after being stopped for a taillight violation in LaVale.

According to the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were on a routine patrol in LaVale when they observed a vehicle being operated without a required stop lamp.

At approximateley 5:06 p.m., they conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle.  The operator was identified as James Michael Donaldson, 48, of Burlington.

After making contact with Donaldson, it was learned that he was wanted on a fugitive warrant out of Mineral County for grand larceny. 

During the investigation, it was also learned that Donaldson was operating a motor vehicle without insurance, as well as displaying registration tags issued to another vehicle. 

Donaldson was arrested, and is currently being held at the Allegany County Detention Center, awaiting extradition to Mineral County. 

Multiple traffic citations were also issued to Donaldson following his arrest.
