KEYSER - The board members of the Mineral County Development Authority approved the slate of officers presented by the nominating committee during a recent meeting.
The officers for the next year will be, Buck Eagle, president; John Lusk, vice president; Lucas Taylor, treasurer; and Shelley Friend, secretary.
Taking the opportunity to attract additional businesses to locate in the Fort Ashby Business and Technology Park, Clark has submitted a grant to expand broadband in the park.
The cost of installing the broadband services is just around $74,000, and the grant could furnish just under $56,000, and the share of the contribution for the development authority is $24,000.
Clark said about the grant award time frame, “I expect the award announcement prior to the end of July.”
Along the same lines of promoting Mineral County, he suggested to board members that an updated brochure be developed “for more effective recruiting” of businesses.
The purpose of the new brochure would be to show that Mineral County is business friendly.
The development authority will not have a regular meeting in July, and the next board meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 21, at 2 p.m
