KEYSER -- Visitors are invited to put on their favorite Caribbean outfits -- straw hats, flowery shorts, flip-flops -- and come to the Mineral County Farmers Market Friday for some summertime fun.

KEYSER -- Visitors are invited to put on their favorite Caribbean  outfits -- straw hats, flowery shorts, flip-flops -- and come to the Mineral County Farmers Market Friday for some summertime fun.
Band Jammin', a local steel drum ensemble, willl be performing at at the Keyser farmers market this Friday, June 22, from 9:30-11:30 a.m., according to MCFM secretary and promotion chair Pam Rose.
Regular farmers market vendors featuring homegrown produce, local farm raised meat and eggs, and handmade items also will be on hand.
The Keyser market sets up in the parking lot of the Keyser Assembly of God Church, located just north of Walmart along U.S. Route 220, every Friday from around 7:30 a.m. until noon.
Admission is free.
Other MCFM special events for the Keyser market include:
July 13 -- Children’s Day featuring a Vegetable Scavenger Hunt for the little shoppers from 10 to 11 a.m. Band Jammin' will perform from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m..
July 20 -- The "Library Visits the Market" features "Chew Your Own Adventure -- Recipes from the Library" from 8-11 a.m. Rain date is July 27.
Aug. 3 -- Tomato Tasting and Tomato Weigh-In from 9-11 a.m. is presented by the Mineral County Master Gardeners. Bring your biggest tomato to be weighed.
Aug. 3 --Veggie Basket Raffle features a basket of vegetables provided by farmers market vendors as a fund raiser for the MC Farmers Market Association. Tickets are 3 for $1 with the drawing set for 10 a.m.
Aug. 17 -- Customer Appreciation Day, once again will feature the steel drum ensemble Band Jammin' from 9:30-11:30 a.m. and a big "THANK YOU" from the market vendors.
September 21 -- Veggie Basket Raffle, same as Aug. 3.
Mineral County Farmers Markets also are held Saturdays at the Town Pavillion in Piedmont and Tuesdays at the Fort Ashby Fairgrounds, both from 8 a.m. until noon.
Keyser evening markets on Tuesdays from 3-7 p.m. will be held if individual vendors opt to participate.
