RIDGELEY – Joining the Ridgeley Police Department in October, Jimmy Cummings has now risen to the rank of chief.

RIDGELEY – Joining the Ridgeley Police Department in October, Jimmy Cummings has now risen to the rank of chief.
Raised in Hampshire County, he spent his law enforcement career in Jefferson County with the Shepherdstown Police Department.
He brings K-9 experience to the department including two K-9 academies and the narcotics interdiction team.
A certified officer in West Virginia and Virginia, he is continuing his education with a Masters in Criminal Justice from Blue Ridge Community College.
Cummings is also a veteran, serving four years in the U.S. Army, and he notes that he was included in the documentary on the “Ghosts of Shepherdstown” while serving there.
