KEYSER - A Mineral County Technical Center instructor has been accused of inappropriate behavior toward a teen-aged female.
Paul Jay Dolly, instructor of general building construction at the center, was indicted by a Mineral County Grand Jury Monday on one felony count of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian or custodian.
Superintendent of schools Shawn Dilly confirmed Thursday that the county school system had been made aware of the accusation and that Dolly had been on administrative leave “for some time” pending an outcome of the lengthy investigation.
The incident was to have occurred some time in November 2016 and is under investigation by the West Virginia State Police.
Now that the charge is officially on the books, Dilly said the board of education will likely revisit their decision to suspend Dolly with pay.
Dolly has taught building construction at the center for several years, and his classes have been active in constructing complete houses at the center, which they later sold and put the money back into the program.
