NEW CREEK - A family was left homeless Sunday when their home on the Cut-Off Road was gutted by fire.
According to the New Creek Volunteer Fire Department, firefighters were alerted at 7:18 p.m. and when they arrived on scene, the home was fully involved.
Firefighters were able to confirm that no one was still in the structure, and there were no injuries reported.
The fire was just one of several incidents which kept firefighters and EMS busy Sunday, including a fatal accident on Route 135 between Westernport and McCoole.
Among those responding to the fire on Cut-Off Road, in addition to New Creek, were Keyser, Burlington, Fountain, Potomac No. 2 of Westernport, Tri-Towns of Piedmont, and Romney, along with the MIneral County Sheriff’s Department, New Creek Water Association and Potomac Edison.
