BARTON - A second person has been arrested and charged in connection with an incident in which a female was held against her will and threatened with a gun on Beeman Road in Barton.
Deputies from the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office arrested John Edward Beeman, 56, of Barton on Tuesday following an investigation into a report that Beeman was holding a female victim against her will at gunpoint in his residence. 
The victim was rescued and transported to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center for treatment of significant physical trauma. She is expected to recover from her physical injuries.
During the initial investigation, it was learned that the female had been held for several days in the residence, where she was assaulted numerous times, strangled to the point of losing consciousness and threatened with a loaded gun.
Follow-up investigation by the deputies also revealed that John Beeman had an accessory in the crime, identified as Misty Shay Vinci, 39, of Barton.
An arrest warrant was obtained for Vinci through the Allegany County District Court, and on Wednesday, deputies received a tip that she was at a residence in Barton. Assisted by the Maryland State Police, they responded to the residence and took Vinci into custody without incident.
Vinci was charged with attempted first degree murder, attempted second degree murder, first degree assault, second degree assault, firearm use in a felony/violent crime, wearing and/or carrying a deadly weapon, false imprisonment, obstructing and hindering, firearm-possession with felony conviction, rifle-possession with felony conviction, rifle/shotgun-possession with felony conviction, and illegal possession of ammo.
Beeman had previously been charged with attempted first degree murder, attempted second degree murder, first degree assault, second degree assault, use of a firearm in a felony/violent crime, wearing or carrying a deadly weapon, false imprisonment, obstruction of justice, possession of a firearm after conviction of a crime of violence, possession of a firearm with a felony conviction, possession of a rifle with a felony conviction, and illegal possession of ammo.
Several guns, some of which were loaded, were seized form the residence, including the gun that was described by the victim as the one used to threaten her life.
Members of the Allegany County Combined Criminal Investigation Unit (C3I) are assisting deputies with the investigation. 
Additional charges are pending in Garrett County, where additional crimes occurred related to this incident.
