CARPENDALE – With one day left, the ballot for the upcoming Carpendale election is filling up.
Candidate filing continues through March 27 in preparation for the June 12 election at the Holy Cross Church.
So far, incumbent commissioner Diane Baker and former mayor Dwight “Casey” Lambert have filed for the mayor’s seat.
Current mayor Butch Armentrout is seeking to return to a seat on the council, along with incumbent commissioners Clarence Murray and Virgil O’Neal.
While they hadn’t submitted their paperwork by noon Friday, town clerk Rhonda VanMeter noted that both incumbent commissioners Barbara “Bobbie” Cover and Mary Jo Hinton have expressed their intent to seek re-election.
Candidates must be a resident of the town and a registered voter. Filing fees are $10 for mayor and $5 for commissioner.
