WILEY FORD - An employee who allegedly falsely reported an armed robbery at a Wiley Ford business has been arrested and charged.
Troopers from the Keyser Detachment West Virginia State Police arrested William Harry Kammauff early Friday morning in connection with the Thursday, Feb. 8,  report of an armed robbery at the Press’ Little Market Gas Station in Wiley Ford.
Kammauff was the gas station attendant who was on duty and reported the incident. Upon conducting an investigation, however, Troopers discovered the initial statement Mr. Kammauff provided was determined to be false.
Kammauff was arrested for providing false information to members of the West Virginia State Police, as well as petit larceny, and falsely reporting an emergency incident.
Upon arraignment at the Mineral County Magistrate Court,  Kammauff was held at the Potomac Highlands Regional Jail on a $2,500 bond.
