CARPENDALE – Christmas came to Carpendale recently with the annual tree lighting at the town hall.
Each year students in the Holy Cross Church After School Program usher in the Christmas season as they join in the annual tree lighting.
The children from pre-k to high school sang Christmas carols including “Jingle Bells,” “Go Tell it on the Mountain” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”
The Holy Cross After School programs meets weekly serving area children with snack, homework help and friendship.
Lighting the tree this year was Ridgeley resident Gabbi VanMeter, assisted by Makenley Markle and Emma VanMeter.
Following the tree lighting, children visited with Santa and received a treat from the town.
