KEYSER - In its regular meeting on Tuesday, the Mineral County Board of Education voted unanimously to accept the retirement of Susan Ray effective Nov. 13, 2017.

KEYSER - In its regular meeting on Tuesday,  the Mineral County Board of Education voted unanimously to accept the retirement of Susan Ray effective Nov. 13, 2017.
Ray, whose career in Mineral County spanned more than two
decades, began as a teacher in Mineral County, then became a principal, and moved into the administrative offices in 2011, and most recently served as director of curriculum and instruction. Although Ray was not present at the meeting, the board members
thanked her for her service to Mineral County students.
The board also approved the placement of a long-term assignment for a long term substitute cook position at Frankfort High School for the duration of the school year.
Pamela Brinkman was approved as head bowling coach at Keyser High School. The board also approved leaves of absence for Susan Hamilton, Keyser High School, and Sarah Rrichert-Price, New Creek Primary School.
The board also moved to allow employees on administrative leave to be assigned to alternative work locations. No explanation was given as to whether any specific employee would be affected at this time.
Parent volunteers were approved for Burlington Primary
School, Elk Garden Primary School, Fort Ashby Primary School, Fountain Primary School, Frankfort High School, Frankfort Intermediate School, and Keyser Primary School.
The next Board of Education meeting will be on Tuesday, Dec. 19,  at 6 p.m
