MARTINSBURG – The U.S. Marshals Service Mountain State Fugitive Task Force is looking for a suspected sex offender from Virginia who is believed to have ties in Hamsphire county.

MARTINSBURG – The U.S. Marshals Service Mountain State Fugitive Task Force is looking for a suspected sex offender from Virginia who is believed to have ties in Hamsphire county.
The task force is requesting the public’s assistance in locating
Michael Haymond, 57, who has four outstanding warrants held by the Front Royal, Virginia, Police Department.
Haymond is charged with multiple counts of rape of a child less than 13 years of age and two counts of sodomy of a child.
The Front Royal Police Department charged Haymond upon completion of their investigation. He is suspected to have a history of sexually assaulting children.
The U.S. Marshals are assisting the Front Royal police in locating and arresting Haymond. During the course of the investigation, officers learned Haymond was driving a black Saturn Vue. In the early morning hours of Nov. 20, the vehicle was found in the Clifford Hollow Scenic Overlook parking lot near the 111 mile marker of Route 48 in Hardy County, West Virginia, just outside of Moorefield. Haymond was not located in the area. He has family and associates in Hampshire County, however, as well as ties to Warren and Frederick counties in Virginia.
