LaVALE - A Fort Ashby woman sustained injures in a three-vehicle accident in LaVale Sunday morning.
According to the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to McMullen Highway in the area of Beall Street at approximately 9:30 a.m. for the report of a vehicle crash.
The investigation revealed that a vehicle being operated by 41-year-old Randy Garcia Jr. of Cresaptown was traveling southbound on McMullen Highway when he crossed the center dividing line and struck a vehicle traveling northbound that was being operated by Jenny Scarborough of Ft. Ashby. Scarborough’s vehicle began to spin and impacted a vehicle being operated by Laura Austin of Hudson, Ohio.  
Scarborough and Garcia were transported to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center for apparent non-life-threatening injuries.
Garcia was charged with negligent driving, reckless driving, failure to drive right of center, and failure to obey a traffic control device.
Fire and EMS units from Lavale, Cresaptown, and Cumberland City responded to the scene.
McMullen Highway was closed for a period of time.
