HARRISBURG, Pa. - The Mountain Ridge High School Marching Band concluded the 2017 marching season by the winning the Group 3A Tournament of Bands (TOB) Atlantic Coast Championship on Saturday, Oct. 28, at Central Dauphin Stadium in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

HARRISBURG, Pa. - The Mountain Ridge High School Marching Band concluded the 2017 marching season by the winning the Group 3A Tournament of Bands (TOB) Atlantic Coast Championship on Saturday, Oct. 28, at Central Dauphin Stadium in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.  
The band placed first with a score of 92.555, earning awards for Best Auxiliary, Best Music, Best Percussion, and Best Visual and earned promotion from A Class to Open Class.
The group also captured the Chapter 5 Group 3A championship title on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, at Spring Mills High School in Martinsburg.
Joshua Crowe, senior color guard member, was also awarded a $2,000 TOB scholarship at the event.
The band’s 2017 show “Launch: Cosmic Horizon” features music by Gustav Holst and David Bowie, with arrangements by Jay Bocook, Corey Orban, Derek Shank, and Tyler Shreve.  Drill design is by Trevor Calabro.
The band is led by drum majors Annie Moon and Kaleb Tawney, and is under the direction of Derek Shank. Assistants include Hannah Livingston and Tyler Perske, brass; Ryan Sheally, woodwinds; and Tim Blair, Corey Orban, and Tyler Shreve, percussion. The color guard is under the leadership of Erin Stark, Shellie Stevens, and Madison Shank.  
The Tournament of Bands is one of the largest competitive band organizations in the country, divided into thirteen chapters, which encompass nine states in the Mid-Atlantic region.
