FROSTBURG-On Thursday night, the Mountain Ridge Lady Miners defeated the Allegany Lady Campers in volleyball on their home court. The Lady Miners won 3-0 with scores of 25-23, 25-12, and 25-10.

The Campers almost upset the Miners in the first match, but the Miners were not loosing. Seairra Ward led the way for the Miners with 11 service points, five kills, two assists and a block and a dig.

Jayme DeMoss and Alexie Arnold also contributed to the Miners win with DeMoss having 10 service points, nine kills, eight digs, two blocks, and an assist while Arnold had 30 kills, four blocks, and four digs.

Also for the Miners, Kiana Daniels dished out 22 assists and Abbey Wilson dished out 16. This was the Miners last regular season game before playoffs. Their first playoff game will be November 6th at home. When asked about playoffs Head Coach of the Miners Valery Broadwater said “We had a great regular season, but unfortunately that record means nothing now because we are starting playoffs which is a whole other season. Being the top seed has us advantages and we are going to take one game at a time and work hard every game and see where it takes us.” Mountain Ridge finished the regular season 14-1. For Allegany, Shay Babich led the way with 17 assists, four points, four digs, and one ace. The Campers are now 6-8. Allegany won the JV game 2-0 with scores of 25-18 and 25-20. Samara Funk contributed 13 service points for the Campers while Kennedy Robinette added five. Brooke EauClaire led the Miners with nine service points and Maddie Paris added five. This was the last game for the JV Lady Miners. They finished the season with a record of 10-5.
