KEYSER - The Mineral County Commission agreed on Tuesday morning to forward a letter of support to the Travis Phillip Moreland Recovery Resource Center, located at the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, Short Gap.
Commission president Dr. Richard Lechliter said that addiction centers are not only for those seeking help to be drug free, but also for some who may want assistance with other needs.
He said the Short Gap recovery center is open several times a week, and is working through the Potomac Highland Guild.
Lechliter said the center was established through the efforts of Moreland’s father and aunt.
Giving an overview of the services offered at the Travis Phillip Moreland Recovery Center, he said this is to “give information to families” concerning educational materials, options for recovery placement, and assistance with treatment options.
“This is a meeting place to receive support,” Lechliter said.
