KEYSER - Eight area high school bands will be competing tonight in Keyser High School's seventh annual Cadence in the Valley.

KEYSER - Eight area high school bands will be competing tonight in Keyser High School’s seventh annual Cadence in the Valley.
The competition will get underway at 6 p.m. at Alumni Field. Gates open at 4 p.m.
Bands compete in specific categories, based upon their size.
Those signed up to compete this year, the the times they are scheduled to take the field, include:
6 p.m.: Southern Garrett High School of Oakland, Maryland
6:15 p.m.: Northern Garrett High School of Accident, Maryland
6:30 p.m.: Pocahontas High School of Marlinton, West Virginia
6:45 p.m.: Mountain Ridge High School of Frostburg
7:30 p.m.: Philip Barbour High School of Philippi, West Virginia
7:45 p.m.: Preston High School of Kingwood, West Virginia
8 p.m.: Fort Hill High School of Cumberland
8:15 p.m.: Allegany High School of Cumberland
The Golden Tornado Band will be taking the field at 8:30 p.m. in exhibition. They will be performing their new show for the year, “Artificial Intelligence.”
Tickets purchased at the gate are $8.
In addition to the competition, raffles, themed basket auctions, buttons, air grams, candy grams, Kona Ice and more will be available, and the concession stand will be open.
Cadence in the Valley is a Tournament of Bands sanctioned competition.
