MORGANTOWN - A Mineral County student has been named as the new Student Government regional campus liaison for West Virginia University.
Nick Imes, a junior political science major from Ridgeley, was appointed to the position by the WVU Student Government Association in its commitment to making sure students in the WVU system are cohesively represented and connected.
Imes attended Potomac State College from 2015-2017 and was elected student body president during that time.
A graduate of Frankfort High School, he also served as student body president there.
“Nick brings a passion for our regional campuses that is unrivaled and unmatched,” said WVU student body president Blake
Humphrey.
“As our regional campus liaison, we know that Nick will proactively engage in outreach and open up an even stronger dialogue with our WVU campuses in both Keyser and Beckley.
“We are looking forward to bringing Nick on board in this new role.”
“I am honored by this opportunity to continue serving not only my peers at Potomac State, but also our entire West Virginia University system,” Imes said.
“I am looking forward to connecting all three of our campuses in order to truly make us one WVU.”
